Demon Story 01 – The Thirteenth Light
The house kept breathing after midnight. Doors sighed, portraits blinked, and the mirror in the hallway fogged from a mouth that wasn’t yours. [whispers] You hear it now… the latch lifting itself.
The voice at the threshold doesn’t knock; it counts—one breath, two, three—until you match its rhythm. [laughs] Good. Now open, and let the night put its hands where your heartbeat hides.
Vampire Story 01 – Ashes Before Dawn
The manor exhales dust as I rise, a century sliding off my bones like old frost. Cobwebs pull like veils from the rafters; the portraits remember how to stare. You arrive with a lantern, a small domesticated sun rattling in your grip. [whispers] Hold it still. Let it learn my name.
I lift one finger and the flame bows, halo collapsing into a red bead. [exhales] Set it down—dawn is a rumour here, and rumours do not live long. Walk softly; these floors were taught to kneel before kings, and I am older than kings. When you speak, the dust will answer first. Then I will.
